The Milan event was attended by young people from 10 European countries [ii] , selected by an international jury from among the best from previous years. Hungary was represented in the domestic final by the team Én Hormonom , which won the podium in 2024, and has been actively working on their project on the topic of female hormonal balance ever since. Their goal was to fill the gaps in public health education in the field of women’s health, and they have since started developing their own mobile application. At the European final, they were not only able to present this to an international audience, but also to participate in joint workshops and cultural programs.

The finalists were joined by experts from Samsung and the International Olympic Committee as part of the Together for Tomorrow, Enabling People initiative. The program aims to engage the younger generation through sport and technology to create positive change in the world. This goal aligns with Samsung and the Olympic Committee’s shared vision: to inspire young people to drive change and contribute to sustainable development through the unifying power of sport and cutting-edge innovation.

The winning teams and their improvements

• Curastep – Raye and Sarah (United Kingdom): Smart IoT biometric shoe that helps diabetics with foot problems maintain an active lifestyle.
• Liova – Evan and Simon (France): A portable charger made from used device parts, with eco-design.
• My Hormone – Petra and Zóra (Hungary): Comprehensive educational material on female hormonal balance, filling the gaps in public health knowledge.
• SkillFIT – Alicia and Gabriel (Germany): AI-based platform aimed at ensuring equal opportunities in school physical education.
• VisionNex – Jakub and Jakub (Czech Republic): Affordable smart glasses that convert images of the world around us into text descriptions, helping the visually impaired participate more actively in their environment.

During the final, Benjamin Braun, Samsung’s European Marketing Manager, and Cristina Mangiarotti, Samsung Italy’s CRM and Media Manager, provided valuable advice to the teams, as did participants from the IOC Young Leaders program [iii] . The students also participated in workshops to develop their presentation skills.

The Hungarian team is among the winners

The My Hormone team was among the winners of the 2024 Hungarian Challenge, but they didn’t stop there. They continued their project after the end of the program, and they didn’t let go of their idea after finishing high school and university. Finally, in April 2025, they started working actively on their idea again and dreamed up the Valery application, which, in addition to cycle tracking, can later help users learn about their own body’s hormonal functioning and be more aware of their health. The app will also have educational materials available, and it can help with more open communication between parents and their children, and later between partners. The development has now won the European final as well. „From the moment we reached the European final, we dreamed of making it to the top five teams. It’s an incredible feeling to see our ideas come to life and to share this moment with everyone who believed in us.” – said Petra Hargitai and Zorka Cserni, team members and founders of Valery, about the Milan result.

About the Solutions for Tomorrow program 

The Solutions for Tomorrow initiative encourages young people to use technology to develop creative, innovative solutions to global challenges. The European final is a significant milestone in the history of the program, with which Samsung aims to support the next generation of future shapers. The 5 winners will have the opportunity to visit Samsung’s South Korean headquarters in 2026, where they can gather further inspiration for developing their projects. The 6th season of the Solutions for Tomorrow challenge is already starting in Hungary, for which Samsung and EdisonKids are waiting for student teams to apply until November 27 .

[i] Samsung Solutions for Tomorrow is a global problem-solving challenge launched in 2010, where young people around the world use their STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills to solve real-world problems in their communities and build the future together. Over the past 15 years, nearly 2.8 million students in more than 68 countries have participated in the program. Launched in the United States in 2010, the program began its European expansion in 2019, first in Germany, Switzerland and Italy. It will also be available in Hungary in 2020. This year, the program has already been launched in 20 European countries, and the number of participants will reach 38,000 by 2024.
